Joh. Enschedé host European Banknote Conference, Banknote Security Committee 2008
From 25 till 27 June 2008 the European Banknote Conference, Banknote Security Committee took place in Haarlem.
The meeting, existing of representatives of the European banknote printers, meets on a yearly basis in a changing European city. This year Joh. Enschedé, the Dutch participant in the working group, hosted the conference in the city of Haarlem.
Topics on this year’s agenda were developments in the field of printing inks, design & origination, printing plates, counterfeits, security features for banknotes and material for banknotes. Several European banknote printers print banknotes of a different kind besides the euro banknotes (some printers are no part of the euro zone and print their ‘own’ banknotes), so that know-how can be interchanged on a large scale.
