In August 2008 Polar Mohr will install the 10,000th cutting machine of the X/XT –generation at Joh. Enschedé Security Print. This printing company, part of Royal Joh. Enschedé, has since 1814 been the almost exclusive producer of the Dutch guilder banknotes and later the Dutch indent of Euro banknotes. Joh. Enschedé Security Print also produces other secure print work and postage stamps for over 60 countries.
Because it has growing numbers of banknotes to produce Joh. Enschedé Security Print has decided to expand its machinery with an extra banknote inspection line and a second Polar high-speed cutter with TwinClamp feature. The first cutting machine of this type was invested in by Joh. Enschedé in 2004. Together with Polar Mohr, Joh. Enschedé developed the new technology that enables cutting of 500 sheets of banknotes in one cutting motion instead of the 125 sheets that is normal in this industry. Experiences, especially the improvements in efficiency, with this machine were so positive that, after it became clear that an expansion of production capacity was needed, the choice for a second cutting machine of the same type was made quickly.
The desired expansion of the production capacity at Joh. Enschedé Security is because of the growing volumes of Euro banknotes that need to be produced and the growing production of banknotes outside the Euro zone.
Royal Joh. Enschedé, founded in 1703, is a private international company that supplies services to customers in over 60 countries in the field of Security print, Commercial Print and Media. Joh. Enschedé is active in processes in which chain solutions to customers are paramount, trust plays an important roll and (digital) graphic knowledge and technology are applied.
