“The occupational safety and health policy of Joh. Enschedé Security Print (JESP) focuses on creating a workplace for all employees that is as safe and as healthy as possible in order to stimulate the well-being of these employees”.
JESP conforms itself to all relevant legislation and regulations, industry related guidelines from the KVGO and the brochure ‘Occupational risks in the graphic/ media industry’ from the Labour Inspec-torate. JESP has built a safety & health care system in order to comply with the safety & health policy and the relevant legislation and regulations. The standard OHSAS 18001:2007 is the guiding principle for the further implementation of the necessary activities.
The safety & health policy has reference to all personnel that has access to the company (including subcontractors and visitors). The safety & health policy also applies to dangers or risks to personnel who perform duties to the order of JESP on other locations.
The safety & health policy of Joh. Enschedé Security Print’s aims are:
• Compliance with the safety & health legislation, regulations and industry related guidelines.
• The systematic improvement of the listed risks concerning safety, health and well-being. The risks are mapped out by means of the Risk-Inventory and –Evaluation Grafimedia (RIE Grafimedia) and included in the Safety & Health Plan of Approach.
• The care for the highest possible level of safety, health and well-being of the employees taking into account the following areas:
- The replacement and/ or reduction in the use of dangerous substances (as volatile organic substances) and optimisation of the storage of these substances.
- Machine safety (Safe use of machines, periodical checks, assembly, maintenance, repairs and cleaning of machines, expertise of employees, safety measures).
- Noise (Plan of Approach > 85 dB(A)).
- Physical strain (lay out of the workplace and posture, computer screen work, repetitive movements, lifting, pushing and pulling).
- Psycho social load.
- In-company Emergency Services (training instruction IcES).
• Reduction of absenteeism, accidents and permanent occupational disability.
• Integration with quality and environmental aspects of processes and departments.
• Communication of the safety & health policy to internal and external stakeholders through train-ing and instruction.
